In 2011 a space was donated for the new lab but it had to be completely renovated. During 2011 and 2012, with a g roup of some wonderful volunteers, we were able to complete renovations in the new lab space. Next, we needed to raise funds to purchase new laboratory equipment necessary to do serious cancer research. The task was daunting, but folks around the world again saw the importance of our work and helped us reach our goal.
Let's see a bit of the process of creating the new Novobiotronics Research lab....from the first design ideas to the finished lab......
Here's one of the first computer renderings made in 2011 of our initial design of the main part of the lab-> (notice the many electrical outlets along the left wall!)
Here's a rendering (below) from 2011 of the right wall of the lab..... with some equipment sitting alongside the wall->
In the computer rendering above: you see our initial projection of what one of the most important parts of the lab would look like.....
Where the green chair sits, we planned to have the class II biosafety cabinet (BSC) (only the top vent of the BSC is showin in this rendering).
All preparation work done with cancer cells is done inside our biosafety cabinet (BSC), for protection of the cells and for protection of our scientists working in the lab. (More on the BSC below!).
Right of the green chair, a CO2 incubator sits atop a research bench.. Cancer cells are maintained in the CO2 incubator.
A compressed gas bottle of CO2 (carbon dioxide gas) is seen as the green cylinder near the incubator. This supplies the needed CO2 gas for the incubator at a precise pressure level into the incubator. The incubator is capable of keeping cancer cells at 37 degrees Celsius in a humidified environment with an atmosphere of 5% CO2 gas (normal air has less than 1% CO2 gas, but most cancer cells need 5%).
A refrigerator/freezer sits to the left of the BSC workspace. The fridge/freezer is used to keep reagents/liquid & frozen lab supplies.
Renovation of the lab space was made possible by generous volunteers and by our generous donors who sent in tax-deductible contributions to help support our work. CLICK HERE NOW TO DONATE AND HELP KEEP OUR RESEARCH WORK GOING!!
The primary construction/renovation work in the lab was begun in 2012 and continued into 2013. The lab was essentially complete in 2013 but was empty. Several pieces of equipment were needed to bring the lab alive and capable of doing serious cancer research, including a class II biosafety cabinet (BSC), CO2 incubator, CO2 compressed gas tank with multiple pressure gauges, phase contrast inverted microscope, centrifuge, refrigerator/freezer, warm water bath with precise temperature control, and numerous basic lab supplies (nutrient media, serum, pipettes, flasks, beakers, etc.).
In the Fall of 2013, we launched our online fundraiser through Indeigogo, to help raise funds to purchase the needed equipment. You can learn a lot about our lab and our work by looking through that Indiegogo fundraiser. CLICK HERE TO SEE OUR INDIEGOGO FUNDRAISER FROM 2013 (just full of important information about our work!)
The Indiegogo fundraiser fell a bit short of our goal for funds for needed laboratory equipment, but a number of folks contacted us after the online fundraiser officially ended and offered to help. This gave us enough funds to purchase all the equipment and supplies we needed to get the lab up and running. The lab went 'online' (research began in it) in the summer of 2014, but we held off announcing our success in the lab until we could complete our first year of research work with cancer cells in vitro in the new lab. Our results against cancer cells in the new lab WERE JUST AMAZING!!!! (more on this very soon!)

A YEAR OF NEW RESEARCH ON CANCER with absolutely AMAZING RESULTS!!! (data coming soon at this website!)
